Walker's Electric is growing! We're looking to add qualified electricians and powerline technicians to serve the broad base of customers we've built across Midland, Penetanguishene and surrounding communities over more than 85 years.
We're a third-generation, family-owned business dedicated to outstanding workmanship and performance for local towns and municipalities, government agencies, residential homeowners, property managers and developers, commercial and industrial businesses, water and wastewater treatment plants, and general contractors on large projects.
We're currently hiring licensed 309A electricians who are also certified as powerline technicians for high-voltage work.
Responsibilities
- Servicing, maintaining and repairing overhead and underground electrical transmission and distribution systems
- Erecting and maintaining poles and structures
- Splicing and terminating conductors
- Reading drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications
- Testing electrical components
- Inspecting systems for damage or hazards
- Troubleshooting faults
- Collaborating professionally with clients and other trades
What you should have
- 309A Electrician certification
- Powerline Technician certification (434A) preferred
- Working at Heights and Elevated Work Platform certification
- Valid G Class driver's license
- Basic tools and PPE
- WHMIS and Worker Health & Safety Awareness
